The White Russian is a moderately contemporary drink which first appeared around 1949, the main difference between Black and White Russian is that the White version features the addition of cream. Oddly enough the drink bears no relation to Russia apart from the fact it contains Vodka.
White Russian’s have generally been seen as unsophisticated cocktails and have rarely seen much popularity, this however changed in 1998 thanks to the film “The Big Lebowski” where the main character known as ‘The Dude’ chose the White Russian as his main beverage.
